By eliminating yeast in your diet, (usually present in foods including: alcohol, vinegar, malt, chocolate and other fermented food) you can also eliminate eczema and other skin infection with the help of Nystatin which is an anti-yeast medication. Nickel in food is also believed to aggravate eczema. Foods such as: apricots, chocolates, coffee, tea and nuts should be consumed at a limit.

Forced-air dries your skin and aggravates the itching. Having a humidifier will greatly help.

Bathe in lukewarm water. Cold water can dry the skin, while hot water can soften the skin too much. Soap is also a no-no, but you can use grease including Eucerin, Keri, Lubriderm lotion or Moisturel to keep the moisture in the skin while cleaning it with soap. You can also use oatmeal as a soap substitute. Just prepare 2 cups of colloidal oatmeal into a tub of lukewarm water for a soothing treat.

Clothes are also a factor. Synthetic, tight-fitting, and itchy fabric can aggravate eczema. Wearing cotton is advisable, and when washing clothes, be sure to rinse them thoroughly.

Refrain from using artificial fingernails as the acrylics used to make these can cause dermatitis.

Refrain from using antiperspirants because it has metallic salts and can cause irritation. If you really want to use these, look for the types that have anti-irritants like allantoinate, zinc oxide or triethanolamine.
